Oracle 11G RAC Linux Cluster Install

root.sh fails/ hangs during 11g clusterware install on Red Hat Linux 5 ( RHEL 5) on another node/second node

• Firewall should be turned off or Firewall should be turned off for Cluster Interconnect Traffic. Ask sysadmin to allow Firewall traffic between for Cluster Interconnect.

• /sbin/service iptables status -- to see status /sbin/service iptables stop -- to stop firewall completely /sbin/service iptables start -- to start firewall
• Oracle recommends to stop firewall (Note: 554781.1RAC instabilities due to firewall (netfilter/iptables) enabled on the cluster interconnect)
